Decisions Decisions

Garrett accepted a position with Citizens Memorial Healthcare in Bolivar, MO so we'll be moving there in June 2014!  We found a beautiful house we're hopeful to get as well.

I'm eager to make the next year count as it's our last year in this beautiful state.  I've been slacking on my workouts as of late, and I am feeling it.  I'm tired, stressed, and not sleeping well.  I got some rest this weekend, and I am eager to start my workouts back up in the AM.

Isn't it funny how we start each day with the best intentions, with all the motivation in the world, and we are slowly drained over the course of the day of all that?  I'm on a mission to figure out how to change that.

I'm going to start up with Awesome Note again, and stick with it!  Hopefully it changes things around for me!    https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/awesome-note-+to-do-calendar/id320203391?mt=8

This was my first week of my Turbo Fire/ChaLEAN Extreme hybrid 20 week program.  It broke down to:

TUESDAY: 10 MINUTES/21 MINUTES
WEDNESDAY: REST DAY
THURSDAY: 36 MINUTES
FRIDAY: 20 MINUTES/10 MINUTES
SATURDAY: 27 MINUTES/10 MINUTES
SUNDAY: 10 MINUTES/21 MINUTES

I also did 3.28 miles on the elliptical on Sunday.  I've noticed I'm much more sore in my thighs and legs overall this week than I have been in months.  I'm taking that as a good thing, since I'm changing things up!

My main problem before this week and why I started a new regiment has been overeating.  I eat even when I'm not hungry, I eat when I'm bored, I eat when I'm stressed, then I feel guilty.  Then, I'll do 5+ miles to burn up the calories.  I am slowly getting back to a good balance and a healthy mentality with food and exercise.  I think it'll always be a struggle and keeping MODERATION in my mind.

Eat to live, not live to eat.

Tampa International Airport 5K Runway Fun Run

Great time!  5k for April done :)  Next up, Color Me Rad in May!

It was interesting to see all the security, definitely the safest 5k I've ever been involved in.  Actually being on the runway was a neat experience, and I got to share it with my husband, who finished in 25 minutes, WOW!  I was 35 minutes, which is a great time for me, and I'm happy with that, especially with how I was feeling.

Looking forward to meal planning today and getting back on track with healthy eating and exercise :)

Big News

WE ARE MOVING!

Yep, back to the Midwest.

Dr. Hubs has interviews at 2 hospitals while we're back in Missouri next week, and then 1 in the second week of May.

It's an exciting time for us, I know we will miss the beautiful sites and weather of Tampa Bay and all the wonderful people we've met and developed friendships with.  It was a hard decision to make, one that took tears, lots of thought, and compromise.  We don't know the exact location we'll end up in quite yet, but we do know the area we'd like to be in and it seems there are job opportunities for him where we'd like to go.  Keep us in your thoughts if you're so inclined through our travels next week for strength and patience as we make this journey and transition in our lives.  The move won't happen until next year when he's done with residency, June 2014, but it is happening.

I look forward to the new challenges we'll face and being closer to family and the groups of friends we left in 2010 for the move to Florida, as well as the friends we haven't met yet!

Until then, staying on track to have a healthy and happy 2013!

Flashback Sunday

It's amazing what how photos stir up emotions.

While I look through these old snapshots of what life used to be like for me, I remember how I felt.  How uncomfortable, how unhappy, how just downright sad.  It wasn't all because of weight.  It's physical and emotional to gain weight as well as to lose it and to be healthy.

At the same time I am speechless and bursting with words.

I'm sad for what I missed out on during those times in my life when I was overweight and depressed.
BUT
I'm damn proud of how I changed that and where I am now.

I'm healthy mentally and physically and I make the most of it!

and THIS IS ME NOW!  It's only going to get better! :)

Trever Miller Mob 5k

March 5k is complete! Not a PR by far after staying up too late (and maybe too much wine) but I finished. There isn't a better feeling than completing something you set out to do!

We were on beautiful Paradise Island and got to see a wonderful sunrise of pinks, oranges, and red.  I wanted to get a picture but there were so many cars I just couldn't get a good spot!

I burned 415 calories, finished in about 40 minutes which wasn't too bad since I had to walk more than I wanted.
